Mukawa Town, Japan borders the Pacific Ocean in southern Hokkaido, just a 40 minute drive from the New Chitose airport. It has a population of 8,000 people and is infamous for the most delicious Sishamo (Willow Leaf Fish) in Japan. The town is also the home of our second largest project, the Mukawa-Cho Solar Power Plant.

With the support of the local authority and community, the project acquired all the necessary permits and reached its commercial operation date on August 1st, 2018. The power plant utilizes 340,000m2 of polycrystalline panels and is worth more than JPY 9,300 million. Annually, it can generate up to 23 million units and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 12,000 tons. This is equivalent to saving more than 5.4 million liters of fuel per year.

Today, Mukawa-Cho Solar Power Plant is in stable operation. The electricity generated by the abundant solar energy benefits both the local community and the environment alike. IES promises to continue building and improving renewable energy plants in the future.
